KETO FISH PATTIES

These fish patties are easy to make. I made them with tinned fish. You can also try them with boneless cooked fish.

INGREDIENTS

12 oz of any kind of boneless tinned fish

2 medium sized red onions finely chopped

1 serrano or green chili finely chopped (optional)

2 inch piece of fresh ginger grated

8 cloves of peeled garlic grated

1 tablespoon of coconut oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder

juice of 1/2 a lemon

1/2 cup of cilantro leaves finely chopped (optional)

2 tablespoons of heavy cream or almond milk or coconut milk

1/4 cup of coconut flour

1/4 cup of almond flour

2 eggs

1/4 cup of cooking oil for frying

PREPARATION

Heat a deep frying pan, add the coconut oil and let it melt .

Now add the chopped onions, serrano, ginger and garlic and sauté them till they reduce and become light brown.

Now add salt, turmeric, black pepper powder fry them for a minute.

Now add the tinned fish, drain the water completely before adding.

Sauté the fish with the onion mixture till it is finely crumbled. Add the fresh chopped cilantro.

Remove and place the mixture in a mixing bowl. Allow the mixture to cool.

Add the cream or almond milk and the coconut flour to the mixture and mix well.

Now add the almond flour and the 2 eggs to the mixture.

Mix everything well with your clean hands till the dough comes together.

In a shallow frying pan add oil for frying and heat the oil in medium high heat.

When the oil is hot make balls of the mixture, gently press and place in the hot oil.

Fry for about a minute on each side till they are golden brown.

Remove and allow to cool. Enjoy as a snack with your favorite chutney or pesto.
