This is a simple and easy tofu recipe. I used extra firm tofu for this recipe. Extra firm tofu is easy to fry.

To make the delicious sauce, I used chicken soup powder, and Indian curry powder to flavor along with soy sauce and tomato paste.


1 pound of extra firm tofu

1 green bell pepper sliced and cubed

1 big onion sliced and cubed

1 tablespoon of garlic paste

1 teaspoon of chicken soup powder

1 teaspoon of Indian curry powder

1 teaspoon of black pepper powder

1/4 teaspoon of cayenne powder (optional)

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon of tomato paste

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

1/4 cup of chopped cilantro leaves

Salt to taste


Heat a deep frying pan in medium high heat and add 4 tablespoons of olive oil or any cooking oil

Remove tofu from the container and squeeze the water with paper towels. Now make simple slices like bread loaves of the tofu and add pepper and salt to the pieces. Then place the pieces in the hot pan and allow them to fry evenly.

It may take about 10 minutes. Remove the tofu and place them on a plate and allow them to cool.

Now in the same pan after removing the fried tofu, add onions and fry them till they are translucent.

Now add the chicken soup powder and curry powder and fry them then add the garlic paste and fry till oil separates and the garlic is cooked.

Now add soy sauce and tomato paste to the mixture and stir well and allow to cook for about a minute, and now add the cubed green pepper, 1/4 cup of water, and stir and close the lid of the pan for 2 minutes for the pepper to half cook, to still be firm and crispy.

Now add the lemon juice and taste for salt, if you need salt you can add. Sometimes the chicken soup powder and soy sauce will have salt so be careful, add salt only if you need it.

Now cut the fried tofu into cubes and add to the pan, stir everything together, allow them to cook for about a minute. Now add the chopped cilantro and mix well. Remove the pan from heat , transfer the tofu dish to a container and enjoy with your meal.
