FLAVORFUL FISH FLAKES

This is an easy recipe to make when you have tinned fish with you.

I used 3 tins of fish. Each tin contained 6oz of fish.

You can use any kind of fish you like. Or even if you have fresh fish you can cook it and flake it for this recipe.

INGREDIENTS

3 , 6oz tins of any kind of fish ( I used salmon)

2 medium sized onions chopped finely

1 green serrano pepper or 2 green chilies chopped finely ( optional)

2 tablespoons of fresh grated ginger

2 tablespoons of fresh grated garlic

2 tablespoons of lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon or more of black pepper powder (according to your taste)

1 teaspoon of salt

1 tablespoon of coconut oil & 2 tablespoons of cooking oil

1/2 cup of chopped fresh cilantro leaves

PREPARATION

Heat a deep frying pan in medium high heat and add the coconut and the cooking oil in it.

When the oil is hot add the chopped onions, garlic, chopped green chilies and ginger to the oil and sauté them for about 15 minutes till they are well browned and give out a nice flavor.

Now add turmeric powder, black pepper powder and salt to the sautéed mixture and allow to fry for sometime. The oil will separate from the mixture.

At this time remove the fish from the tins and break them gently with your hand and add them to the pan and mix well with the fried onion mixture.

Close the lid of the pan and allow to cook for 5 minutes.

Now add the lemon juice and mix well and then add the chopped cilantro and mix everything together and close the lid of the pan , reduce heat to medium and cook for 2 minutes.

Remove the lid, transfer the flavorful fish flakes to a container and enjoy it with your meal.
