Tikka Masala is a flavorful creamy recipe usually made with chicken.
They say that the Indians who live in Britain created this recipe.
I tried this recipe with turkey meat. It turned out good.
INGREDIENTS
2 lbs of turkey breast tenders cubed
1/4 teaspoon of meat tenderizer
3 tablespoons of greek yogurt
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
3 tablespoons of ginger paste
4 tablespoons of garlic paste
2 heaped teaspoons of garam masala powder
1/2 teaspoon or less of cayenne or 1 teaspoon of red chili powder
1 teaspoon of kashmiri chili powder for the red color
1 cup of tomato paste
2 big onions chopped into small pieces
1/2 cup of heavy cream
5 tablespoons of healthy cooking oil
salt to taste
PREPARATION
Mix the cubed turkey meat with three tablespoons of yogurt, lemon juice, salt 2 tablespoons of ginger paste and 2 tablespoons of garlic paste, 1 heaped teaspoon of garam masala, and a 1/4 teaspoon of meat tenderizer.
Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
Now in a large frying pan add oil and when the oil is heated, place turkey pieces one at a time on the hot oil, arrange them all in such a way that they are a little away from each other. Allow them to fry well on one side and then turn the pieces to the other side to fry. If there are more pieces you can do this process twice till all the pieces are fried. If you use a heavy iron pan, the pieces will get a nice dark color.
Now remove the pieces to a bowl and keep aside. In the same oil that has all the dark roasted masalas from the frying add the chopped onions and fry them well till they reduce and now add 1 tablespoon of ginger paste and 2 tablespoons of garlic paste and allow them to fry well with the onions. Now add a heaped teaspoon of garam masala, salt, cayenne powder, and fry them well with the onions.
Now add the tomato paste to the mixture and mix well and allow to cook for 5 minutes in medium heat. Some people add some sweet to their sauce at this time, I did not add any. But if you prefer a sweet taste along with the sour taste of the tomatoes, you can add a teaspoon of sweetener (erythritol or stevia)
Now add the fried turkey pieces to this mixture and mix well.
Now add the heavy cream to the mixture and mix well and close the lid of the pan and allow to cook for 7-10 minutes or until the turkey meat is tender.
Taste the sauce for salt and adjust it. When the oil comes up to the top of the sauce remove from heat and serve hot with your keto breads. Enjoy!
