INGREDIENTS
2 pounds salmon fillet
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoons Lemon juice
Besan or gram flour powder (This is to coat the fish lightly, gram flour is very low carb, if you want to avoid carb, you can use protein powder)
1/2 cup of olive Oil for frying
PREPARATION
Bring the salmon to room temperature. Make small slanting cuts in the fillet with a sharp knife, this is to help the spice to get into the fillet before you fry them.
Now in a large mixing bowl add the salt , spice powders and lemon juice mix well and add the spice paste evenly on each salmon fillet using your clean hands smear the paste on each fillet till well coated.
Place the spice coated fillet on a plate and allow them to soak the spices for 10 minutes.
In a large bowl or plate add the dry gram powder or protein powder, keep it ready on the side to coat the fish pieces before you fry them.
Heat oil in a shallow frying pan, keep the heat on medium high.
Now gently coat each fillet with the dry gram flour and place the pieces skin side up in the oil.
Exactly after 2 minutes turn the fish pieces so that the skin side is touching the pan. Now fry for another 2 minutes.
Remove from the oil and place in a plate and enjoy hot.
Note: The frying time is different for different variety of fish. Here in this recipe the fish is salmon and it fries well on medium high heat at 2 minutes for each side.
