SAVORY PIE – KETO

This keto pie is a simple recipe. It is easy to make. It is healthy & very pleasing to friends and family.

The Recipe:

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 lb of ground turkey or chicken

2 tablespoons of coconut oil or any healthy cooking oil

1 shallot or a small red onion finely chopped (optional)

1 green chili or serrano pepper finely chopped (optional)

4 cloves of garlic and 1 inch piece of ginger finely chopped

3 teaspoons of garam masala or 3 tablespoons of taco seasoning or any other seasoning of your preference

6 large eggs

1/4 cup of heavy cream

1 teaspoon of garlic paste

1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder

Salt to taste

1/2 cup shredded cheese (I used a combination of parmesan and cheddar)

PREPARATION

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease a 9 inch pie pan.

In a frying pan add the oil and the chopped vegetables and fry them till the aroma is released, now add salt and seasoning of your choice.

Add the ground chicken or turkey meat to the pan and allow it to brown in medium heat until it is no longer pink. Break up the clumps with the back of your spatula. Stir the mixture till well combined.

Now transfer the mixture to the prepared pie pan.

In a large bowl add the eggs, garlic paste, salt and pepper powder and whisk them well till frothy.

Pour the egg mixture on top of the chicken mixture in the pie pan. gently poke the chicken mixture with your spatula so that the egg mixture does not just stay on the top, it gets to go into the chicken mixture also.

Now sprinkle the shredded cheese and place in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove and let the pie sit for 5 minutes before slicing.
